Casar de Cáceres, February 5. – The Regulatory Council of the Torta del Casar Protected Designation of Origin participates in Hall H
Torta del Casar is present at the Cáceres Provincial Council stand during the twenty-sixth edition of the fair and attendees can taste the cheese and learn about the characteristics that make it a unique product.
In addition, chefs from Extremaduran restaurants will carry out cooking demonstrations with Torta del Casar as the main ingredient. On Tuesday, February 6, chef Gonzalo Serrano from the Tápara Restaurant will make a D.O.P Torta del Casar cake with D.O.P Cereza del Jerte coulis and on Wednesday, February 7, chef Fátima Carrasco, from the Casa Laura – Valverde restaurant del Fresno – will prepare Chantarela with Torta del Casar D.O.P, Pedro Ximénez and crispy Dehesa de Extremadura D.O.P Ham.
The Denomination of Origin of Torta del Casar takes advantage of the fair to present the Gastronomic Route of ‘The Taste of a Territory’, whose objective is to publicize the province of Cáceres through its gastronomy, with Torta del Casar as the protagonist, as well as its natural and cultural resources. To do this, the D.O.P has designed five routes that cover the key points of the province, starting and returning to Casar de Cáceres, birthplace of Torta del Casar.

The participation of the Regulatory Council in this event represents another step in the promotion of D.O.P Torta del Casar cheeses in a region where it still does not have the same implementation as in other territories of Spain.
