The judge who opened investigation proceedings as a result of the complaint filed by Clean Hands against Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will take statements this Friday – as witnesses – from two heads of media outlets who They published information on which the union bases its letter.

Legal sources have told Europa Press that the head of the Investigative Court Number 41 of Madrid has summoned an official from ‘El Confidencial’ and another from ‘Esdiario’, as requested by Manos Limbas in its complaint, within the framework of the case in which he secretly investigates alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business.

The union supports its complaint against the wife of the Chief Executive in what was published by several digital and print newspapers, as well as what is known from television talk shows. In a subsequent press release, Miguel Bernad – general secretary of Manos Cleans – stressed that it was based on information from the media and that if the news was not true it should be “those who published it” who would assume “the falsehood”.

In said complaint, to which Europa Press had access, the union indicates that one of the businessmen “benefited by these recommendations or endorsements” is Carlos Barrabés, and that public tenders worth 10 million euros were awarded to him. “This businessman also set up the Master of Competitive Social Transformation of the accused,” he says, adding that Gómez’s chair signed that businessman as an associate professor.

Once the investigation proceedings were opened, Manos Médicas provided the judge with a report in relation to four contracts for an amount of 10.2 million euros that the public entity ‘Red.es’ awarded to the Barrabés company, Innova Next SL.

On the other hand, the complaint indicates that Víctor de Aldama, who is investigated by the National Court as the alleged perpetrator of the ‘Koldo case’, was Gómez’s contact in Globalia and earned 6.67 million before “the rescue” was negotiated. (…) of the company”.

Last Friday, Clean Hands announced that it has expanded its complaint against Gómez with a report on the public aid granted to Globalia during the pandemic and in which it points to the President of the Government as “the alleged cover-up and necessary cooperator of the businesses” of his wife. .

Specifically, the union questions two aid granted to Globalia – owner of the airline Air Europa – for 475 and 320 million euros that “are approved by the Council of Ministers without passing the control that most companies went through” to benefit from a fund to support the solvency of strategic companies.

In addition, Manos Cleans has asked the court to demand the exchange of calls from Gómez, both from the telephone numbers assigned to the Presidency of the Government and from individuals, with the businessmen Barrabés, Javier Hidalgo (former CEO of Globalia) and De Aldama, with the who has “a friendship relationship that has not been denied” and “direct, intimate and constant contacts,” Bernad said.
