MADRID, 4 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

An Iranian warship equipped with drones and missiles has crossed the equator into the southern hemisphere for the first time, Iranian state television IRIB reported this Saturday.

IRIB has not revealed the exact location of the ‘Shahid Mahdawi’, a container ship converted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that was unveiled more than a year ago.

This is, according to IRIB information, the first time that Iran has sent a warship on a long-range mission.

The ship “has a variety of advanced radars, such as three-dimensional radar, missile systems, ground-to-ground, ground-to-air and other advanced telecommunications systems,” according to the official Iranian media.

In February, it should be remembered, Iranian forces for the first time launched medium-range missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of about 1,700 kilometers precisely from this ship.
