The political leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniye, said this Thursday that the group considers in a “positive spirit” the latest agreement proposal presented by Israel for the release of the hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Haniye had a telephone conversation with the director of the General Intelligence Service (GIS), the Egyptian secret services, Abbas Kamel, whom he informed that a Hamas delegation will soon visit Cairo to advance negotiations for a ceasefire. , reports the Egyptian state newspaper ‘Al Ahram’.

The Hamas leader has also expressed his gratitude for the mediation of Egypt, which collaborates with Qatar and the United States in managing contacts.

This same Thursday, the Egyptian television channel Al Qahera News reported “positive progress” in contacts between Hamas and Israel and reported that in two days a Hamas delegation will travel to Cairo.
