The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, held a telephone conversation this Sunday with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he reiterated his condemnation of the terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israel and his right to defend himself while at the same time has called for humanitarian aid to reach the population of Gaza in a “sufficient and sustained” manner.
The acting head of the Executive has stressed to Netanyahu that Israel has the right to defend itself from Hamas “within the limits of international and humanitarian law” and has reiterated his solidarity with the families of the victims.
“The hostages must be released immediately and without conditions,” he told his counterpart, as he explained in a message published on the social network X.
Likewise, he expressed his “deep concern” for the protection of all civilians and the need for humanitarian aid to reach the population of Gaza “in a sufficient and sustained manner”, calling for a “humanitarian ceasefire.” .
“We must prevent the conflict from spreading to the rest of the region. We must address a definitive solution for peace, based on the solution of two States, Israel and Palestine, that coexist in peace and security,” he added.
