MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

USO-Air Sector has called for a rally next Thursday, October 26, in front of the Iberia headquarters after the awarding of the handling competition licenses and the little information that the airline has given about what its next steps will be.

The union recalls that Iberia has lost the license to operate in eight airports, which means that thousands of workers will be subrogated to other successful companies.

USO criticizes that Iberia “continues without commenting on its future project” and on whether it is going to assume the structure resulting from the contest, whether it is going to request authorization for the group’s self-handling, which would mean retaining more than 70% of the airports where you have lost your license, or if you are going to explore solutions via UTE, as happened 15 years ago in Barcelona. For all this, there is “distrust” among workers about their future.

Aena met last week with the companies awarded the handling tender to remind them of the obligation to comply with the collective agreement in the face of the threat of a strike by the unions, which consider that the offers will cause a decrease in the conditions of the workers.
