MADRID, 8 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Republican senator for the state of Texas Ted Cruz was hit on the head with a beer can on Monday when he was in a parade in Houston for the victory of the Houston Astros in the Baseball World Series.

Cruz was in a float when celebrating the victory of the baseball team when a passerby hit him with a beer can on his head, according to the Houston Police in a statement.

The senator has not required medical attention since he has not been injured. Also, police officers have arrested the man who has thrown the can accused of assault. So far, neither his age nor the motivation for the attack have been disclosed.

“As always, I am grateful to the Houston Police and the Capitol Police for their prompt action,” Cruz himself said in a message on the social network Twitter.

“I’m also thankful that the clown who threw his beer had a noodle for an arm,” he added, hinting that he was not injured in any way.
