MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The second vice-president of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, has made an appeal to the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to stop putting the “party interests” of his formation and agree once and for all to renew the General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ ), for the good of justice and citizenship.
“You have to choose between the interests of justice, of citizenship, or continue choosing your partisan interests. PP voters believe that it is urgent to comply with the constitutional mandate and renew all judicial bodies,” he told the media after attending to an informative breakfast of the Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats, organized by Nueva Economía Fórum.
All this after a week has passed since the meeting between Feijóo and the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to reactivate the negotiation between the two formations on the CGPJ, after the resignation of its former president of the institution Carlos Lesmes.
Therefore, he has demanded the president of the PP to “commit to his country” and end the blockade in the replacement of the members of the governing body of the judges, whose mandate has expired for almost four years.
Moreover, he has warned Feijóo that if he chooses to continue “following his partisan interests”, as in his opinion has happened so far, he “will be wrong”; the vice president alleging that citizens will evaluate political leaders in the future electoral cycle “for what they do.”
