MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Iranian authorities announced on Wednesday the seizure of a ship in the Persian Gulf that was transporting nearly 250,000 liters of smuggled fuel, without any information on the ship’s flag at the moment.
The head of the Department of Justice in Hormozgán province, Mojtaba Garhamani, has detailed that the operation has been carried out by the Revolutionary Guard, in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, and has confirmed that the fuel has been confiscated.
Likewise, it has indicated that a person has been detained, without commenting on his nationality, as reported by the Iranian news agency IRNA.
Iran announced in September the seizure of a foreign-flagged ship that was allegedly smuggling 757,000 liters of fuel, as part of its operations in the area, which have led to several interceptions in recent months.
