MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Sociedad has confirmed this Monday the long-term injury of Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq, who suffers a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, for which he could be out for 6 months.
Sadiq suffered a torsion in his right knee last Sunday in matchday five of LaLiga Santander after making a bad support, so Mohamed Cho had to substitute him in the 38th minute. After the MRI performed this Monday, the club confirmed the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, a subsidiary injury of surgical treatment.
The Nigerian joined the Basque team on the last day of the summer transfer market. In less than two weeks, the player will say goodbye to much of the season due to his serious injury. A setback for Real Sociedad, who signed Sadiq after the departure of Alexander Isak to Newcastle, and who suffers a new mishap in attack after the same break of their captain Mikel Oyarzabal, last March, and Carlos Fernández, in August from last year.
