He urges them to contrast the recipes of the Executive and those of the ‘popular’ in the previous financial crisis

MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, has asked his parliamentarians on Monday for “maximum involvement” to “pedagogy” and defend the management of the Executive in the remainder of the legislature.

In the inter-parliamentary meeting that was held in Congress, with the presence of deputies, senators and MEPs, Sánchez has conveyed that they have done “a lot” so far, but there is still “a lot” to do to “continue giving depth to the legislature “.

Therefore, he has asked to defend “with his head held high” the management of the coalition Executive which, as he has underlined, has carried out 161 legislative initiatives so far in the legislature and despite the “adverse situation”.

Along the same lines, he has demanded that his parliamentarians upload their speech against the PP and make an effort to explain the differences between the way of dealing with the current crisis derived from the war in Ukraine and the recipes of the ‘popular’ in the previous crisis financial.

Thus, he has asked to do “pedagogy” regarding the time it took the country to recover from “erroneous” policies of the PP since, as he stressed, employment took a decade to return to pre-crisis levels. On the contrary, he has pointed out, at this moment there are already more people working than at the beginning of the pandemic.

Along these lines, he has indicated that it is not just about social justice but about being “more efficient”, while at the same time he has charged against the effects of “massive” tax increases for the middle and working class and tax amnesties, which caused, in his opinion, a “slow and unfair” recovery.

Sánchez praised his management and reminded the Socialists that the approved regulations are not “minor” but “revolutionary, transformative laws and some of them are pioneers in Europe”, he pointed out.

Thus, he mentioned, among others, the creation of the Minimum Vital Income, the regulation of euthanasia, the law for the protection of children and adolescents, the protection of orphans who are victims of gender violence and the law of equal treatment.
