Russia also warns of a possible “provocation” of the Ukrainian forces

MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ukrainian intelligence services have warned that the Russian forces would be orchestrating some kind of “provocation” at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, since they have ordered non-essential employees not to go to their jobs this Friday.

The leadership of the Ukrainian Intelligence has affirmed that, by surprise, the Russian forces have given a day off to most of the workers and that the envoys of the Russian operator Rosatom have also left the area “urgently”, according to the UNIAN agency. .

Suspicions also come from the other side, since the Russian Investigative Committee has accused the Ukrainian “regime” of preparing “a great provocation” at the Zaporizhia plant, the largest in Europe.

“He plans to develop a criminal scheme by firing artillery at the plant during the visit of the UN secretary general”, António Guterres, assured the Committee, which fears an “emergency” in the coming hours, according to the TASS news agency.

Ukrainian and Russian authorities have accused each other in recent weeks of endangering the security of the entire region by their respective actions near Zaporizhia. Guterres insisted this Thursday, during a visit to Lviv, that an attack on the plant would be “suicidal”.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) wants to send a mission to avoid any type of risk, as it did in its day with the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, also the scene of combat in the early stages of the current war.
