MADRID, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Economy has highlighted this Wednesday that the growth of the GDP of Spain in the second quarter, located at 1.1% in quarterly rate, almost doubles that experienced by the GDP of the Eurozone and the European Union, 0, 6% in both cases, according to data published by Eurostat, the European statistical office.

The department of Nadia Calviño has also highlighted that the growth of Spain’s GDP in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year has been 6.3%, “well above” that of the eurozone (3.9%) and the European Union (4%).

Likewise, it has underlined that the growth data for Spain for the second quarter of 2022 are higher than those of economies such as Germany, France and Italy, both in year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter terms.

Along the same lines, Economy has pointed out that if compared with the data for the first quarter of 2022, the evolution of Spain’s GDP is “more favorable” than that of Europe as a whole: in quarter-on-quarter variation, Spain’s GDP has accelerated ” significantly” its growth, compared to remaining in the European Union.

On its side, in year-on-year variation, Spain has maintained its growth rate, while in the European Union the GDP growth data in the first quarter were more favorable than those of the second, according to Nadia Calviño’s department.
