The midfielder has undergone surgery after suffering a traumatic brain injury
BARCELONA, 11 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Bulgarian midfielder Todor Nedelev underwent surgery on Saturday after suffering a head injury that required surgery due to an accident with the national team bus in Georgia.
“Todor Nedelev’s operation after the serious traffic accident involving our national team in Tbilisi was a success,” said a statement from the Bulgarian Football Federation on Saturday.
The Bulgarian team was on their way to their hotel in Georgia, where they will play matchday four of the UEFA Nations League tomorrow. Nedelev will remain under the supervision of the local medical teams as well as the national team doctor. All other players and staff members are in good health.
“The footballers and the staff of the national team express their deep gratitude to all the medical professionals, to the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Georgia and, in particular, to Ms. Ralitsa Dimitrova, as well as to the entire direction of the Football Federation of Georgia”, they concluded.
