MADRID, 10 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Swiss authorities have adopted this Friday the latest package of sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia, which includes an export embargo on Russian oil.
Thus, Bern has decided to impose “financial sanctions and a ban on entry to the country to another 100 people” linked to Moscow, as reported by the Government in a statement released through its website.
The embargo includes a ban on petroleum products from Russia and will come into force gradually at the beginning of 2023, although the Swiss authorities are analyzing the possible consequences for the country.
On the other hand, the sanctions include the veto of content created or broadcast by some Russian media such as the Sputnik news agency or the Russia Today network.
In March, the Swiss government announced its decision not to ban the content of Sputnik and Russia Today (RT), while acknowledging that these channels are “propaganda and disinformation tools directed by Russia”.
