ZARAGOZA, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Aragonese Pyrenees has supported the position of the Autonomous Government to negotiate the Olympic candidacy and the institutional representatives and the tourism sector of the valleys, who have met this Friday with the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, Felipe Faci, have reiterated their unity before the proposal of the community.
Faci has highlighted, in statements to the media after the meeting held this Friday in Zaragoza, the attitude of unity of the entire Aragonese Pyrenees. Likewise, he has pointed out that everyone has agreed that the proposal of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) “is not balanced”.
In this line, the regional councilor has highlighted that the Pyrenean representatives have confirmed their support for the Government of Aragon “so that it continues working and negotiating a candidacy that covers the entire territory”, and in which all the valleys are represented.
As for alpine skiing, Faci has indicated that sharing alpine skiing events “could help make the proposal put forward by the COE more balanced.”
On the other hand, the counselor has insisted on the position of unity with which the Aragonese Pyrenees faces a possible Olympic bid in 2030, “unlike what happens in Catalonia.”
“Here there have been no dissenting voices”, continued Felipe Faci, stressing that the Aragonese territory will remain united in the face of the possible candidacy, “despite the fact that some have tried to disunite us and, for this reason, he has reiterated the unity of Aragon “since all areas”.
Later, he has assured that the regional Executive is willing to continue with the negotiations and to attend the meetings to which it is summoned. However, before any possible meeting, it will have to be stated under what terms the autonomous community is attending and if the proposals that Aragon has “repeatedly” made are going to be addressed in some way.
