The Ukrainian authorities have raised this Thursday to 240 the number of children killed since the beginning of the Russian “armed aggression”, triggered on February 24 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has indicated in a message on its Telegram account that the conflict has so far left 676 children dead or injured, with 240 dead and 436 injured of varying degrees. “These figures are not final, as work is underway in places of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” he stressed.

“During the analysis of criminal offenses (by the Russian forces) it has become known that as a result of an enemy attack on civilian vehicles in the Mikolaiv area two children were killed,” he said, adding that a teenage girl from 16 years old was injured in an artillery attack in Mariupol.

Finally, he said that 1,883 educational institutions have suffered material damage due to attacks by Russian forces and militias from the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, of which a total of 178 have been “completely destroyed”.
