Some 1,400 positions will be offered during the 23rd edition of the Journées Québec France, June 7-12. Objective: to address the lack of skilled workers in a multitude of sectors and regions.
The pandemic does not prevent scarcity. Quebec still needs skilled labour and uses immigration to recruit it-especially through Journées Québec. Organized by the provincial government and by economic development agencies (Montréal International, Québec International and the Société de développement économique de Drummondville), these international missions (France, Belgium, Morocco, Tunisia…) to link candidates and employers.
The 23rd edition of Journées Québec France will bring together 77 companies offering 1,400 positions in a wide variety of regions and sectors. Among the most in demand : information technology; video games; electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering; construction; transportation; health and social services; administration and marketing; agri-food.

Scheduled twice a year since 2008, the Journées Québec France are gaining increasing success : in total 3500 French people have found temporary employment (two or three years). Workers thus recruited obtain a “closed” work permit, attached to a single employer. “Then there are opportunities to move from temporary worker status to permanent resident status,” says Amaury Luthun, attaché to the immigration services of the Délégation générale du Québec in Paris.
