A man has killed his ex-partner in the middle of the street in Pizarra (Málaga) after shooting her at least twice and, shortly after, he committed suicide with the same firearm.
Both were residents of this town and there were no previous complaints, sources from the Civil Guard have reported.
The victim, 49, and the alleged aggressor, 52, had been separated for a decade and, now, the woman had begun divorce proceedings. The couple had two children together, ages 16 and 23.
The murder would have occurred around one in the morning, on the street where the woman lived with her two children, in the central area of ??the town. Shortly before this time, neighbors heard several gunshots and called the Local Police, who were the first to arrive at the scene.
The mayor of Pizarra (Málaga), Félix Lozano, has shown this Sunday his “maximum rejection” after learning of the murder of the woman this morning on a street in the municipality.
In an audio sent to Europa Press, Lozano has conveyed the “open condemnation” by the Consistory, and has confessed that “they do not give credit” for this crime, in which a woman has been shot by her former romantic partner in the middle of the street. .
Lozano has regretted that the people of Pizarro “wake up with a lot of pain and destroyed”, and has announced that an “extraordinary and urgent” plenary session will be held, with a single point on the agenda to express the “rejection” for these events.
He has also noted the call for a minute of silence at the door of the Town Hall. “We have to raise our voices, demonstrate, continue fighting so that these murders do not happen again,” she stressed.
