47% of Spaniards are wary of using their credit card when making online purchases and, within that percentage, 25% choose to use wallet cards to protect their banking details, according to data from Idealo.
Along the same lines, 16% indicate that, although they do not feel completely comfortable carrying out transactions online, they continue to do so. In a smaller proportion, 4.7% say they feel insecure when making online payments and, therefore, prefer to avoid making electronic purchases.
However, these rates of concern seem to be decreasing, as demonstrated by the greater use of the Internet to make all types of purchases, and the existence of alternatives and payment gateways associated with the main banks that are increasingly safer and more efficient.
In this sense, the online price comparator points out that 53% of respondents trust payment methods when making online purchases.
Regarding the data by gender, Idealo reveals that, in the case of men, 55% trust payment methods when making online purchases, while, in the case of women, the level of trust is slightly lower , with 51%.
When it comes to the use of security methods, 27% of women said they use wallet cards, compared to 23% of men who also opt for this type of card.
