The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the Argentine embassy in Madrid within the framework of the president’s visit to Spain, and its objective is to update the Argentine leader on the plans of these companies in the country.
Milei wants to involve foreign companies with interests in the country to increase projects and investment in Argentina, for which it wants to implement legislation that promotes stability and legal security, thus turning the page on cases such as the expropriation in May 2012. from YPF to Repsol under the Government of former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and for which the Argentine Republic was sentenced to pay 16,000 million dollars.
The Argentine leader will highlight before the Spanish managers the change in the business climate in Argentina and the measures, in some cases painful, adopted by his cabinet to recover the country’s financial credibility, such as the announcement of debt reduction, the cutting of expenses and subsidies and economic orthodoxy initiatives to reduce inflation and restore growth.
Since taking office, the Argentine president has worked to reestablish Argentina’s connections with the business community, in order to sell the country as a stable territory in economic terms and to which businessmen can bring their investments.

Initially, the Government of Argentina reported that Milei would travel to Spain for a political event with Vox, within the framework of the pre-campaign for the elections to the European Parliament, which will be held on June 9. However, in recent days, the Government spokesman, Manuel Adorni, notified the media that the president’s agenda would be made public, which would include a meeting with businessmen.
On this visit to Spain, the first since he took office, no meeting with King Felipe VI is planned, nor with the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
Precisely, his visit comes just a few weeks after both governments were immersed in a controversy due to statements by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente. Finally, this issue was considered settled by both countries.
