MADRID, 19 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, will be interviewed next week by Pablo Motos on ‘El hormiguero’ on Antena 3, according to ‘El Mundo’ and they have confirmed to Europa Press political sources.

The Chief Executive will attend the set of ‘El hormiguero’ next Tuesday, June 27. Earlier, on Sunday 25, he will be interviewed by Jordi Évole on his program ‘Lo de Évole’ on La Sexta at 10:30 p.m., as announced by the presenter himself.

The PSOE candidate for the general elections has also attended this Monday, June 19, ‘Más de uno’, Carlos Alsina’s program on Onda Cero, and this Tuesday he will go to ‘El Intermedio’ on La Sexta, to answer the questions from El Gran Wyoming and Sandra Sabatés.

It will not be the first time that Sánchez submits to questions from Pablo Motos in ‘El hormiguero’, although he did as President of the Government. He already did it in 2014 and 2016 in his first stage as Secretary General of the PSOE.

From the leadership of the PSOE they have been pointing out that they are studying to carry out an electoral campaign for 23J that is significantly different from that of the regional and municipal elections of May 28, in which Sánchez monopolized all the prominence with daily rallies and several national announcements .

In this case, they hope to hold fewer rallies. In total, they calculate to hold a dozen rallies between the pre-campaign and campaign and complement it with other types of actions with more impact, such as debates or interviews in the media.

In addition, the day after the municipal and regional elections, Sánchez already began to mark the line that he will continue in the campaign, by proposing the holding of six face-to-face debates with the PP candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, one a week until the day of the vote, in addition to another debate with the rest of the candidates and others of a sectoral nature with experts on each topic.

For their part, sources from the leadership of the PP have confirmed to Europa Press that Feijóo will attend the set of ‘El Hormiguero’ on June 28, a program to which he confirmed his attendance on the same call in which his presence was requested.

Feijóo’s team has criticized that Sánchez is now “in a hurry” to participate in television programs, hold electoral debates or give interviews when he has not done them for “five years”.

The leader of the PP himself has publicly made ugly this Monday the head of the Executive who now wants to “grant many interviews”, something that he has blamed on the fact that the PSOE cannot carry out acts on the street like the Popular Party, alluding to the difficulties of the PSOE to mobilize his own after the electoral setback in the municipal and regional elections in May.

“Sánchez is going to give many interviews, all the ones he has not given in the last five years. I am going to continue giving interviews like the ones I have given in my entire life,” he assured at the Nueva Economía Forum breakfast, where he added that this fact is “an accreditation also of his double standards”.

The leader of the PP does not plan to attend the program of the journalist Jordi Évole, as the President of the Government will do next Sunday. However, PP sources have indicated that Feijóo already attended an Évole program when he was president of the Xunta de Galicia.

Different leaders of the PP have paraded through the program ‘El Hormiguero’. Thus, Pablo Casado visited this program in October 2019 when he was the PP candidate for the Presidency of the Government. There he surprised everyone by playing the bass to Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown funk’.

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, also visited the program in November 2021, in the midst of an internal war with the leadership of the PP led by Pablo Casado. There she revealed that she had only blocked the then Secretary General of the PP, Teodoro García Egea, from the WhatsApp application on one of her two phones.

The former Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has also paraded through this program. He did it in November 2019 coinciding with the publication of his memoir ‘A better Spain’ and he did it again in December 2021 to present his new work, ‘Politics for adults’.

A few years earlier, in October 2015, the then Vice President of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, accepted the invitation and danced to the tune of the program together with the presenter of the program, Pablo Motos.
