MADRID, 17 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) assured that on Tuesday it is working on the “continuous search for improvements” to achieve “excellence” and, in this sense, invited LaLiga to adopt the semi-automatic offside technology that the Royal Spanish Federation de Fútbol (RFEF) used in the recent Spanish Super Cup.
“Finishing with human error is not possible, but it is possible in offside if the semi-automatic tool is applied. For this reason, we invite the LNFP to implement the semi-automatic offside technology after the experience carried out by the RFEF in the last Spanish Super Cup”, announced the CTA.
In its statement, the committee of referees adds that this technology, used for the first time in Spain in the Super Cup, avoids “any type of failure” in decision-making regarding this game action through the activation of a series of alerts that makes the tool “infallible”.
“In this sense, from the CTA we announce that we will resume talks with the LNFP. Spanish football deserves to continue growing in a cutting-edge context to avoid situations that can be corrected with the application of technology”, the referees contributed.
The semi-automatic offside will also be carried out in the Copa del Rey final, since the implementation of this technology can only be carried out in the First Division Champions League stadiums and not in the rest of the First and Second division.
On the other hand, the CTA has already taken the “strictest disciplinary measures” internally that will affect some already announced appointments. An announcement that comes after the complaints from the Cádiz CF coach, Sergio González, for an unindicated offside in his match against Elche CF.
Sergio González assured that the referee for the match this Monday against Elche, Carlos del Cerro Grande, had apologized to him because the VAR had made an error by not signaling the starting position of Ezequiel Ponce as offside, which was later the author of the final 1-1.
