MADRID, 9 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The acting Minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, has said that the socialists can “understand the desperation” that, in her opinion, is causing the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, his inability to gain votes for his investiture. “He no longer knows what to do and that’s why he comes and goes, he says and they say no to him, he fits in and out,” she commented.
In statements distributed by the PSOE, Rodríguez thus alluded to the controversy generated by some words by Feijóo in which he opted to seek a “fit” for the “territorial problem” of Catalonia within the law.
The leader of the PP later explained that he had used that pro-independence terminology on purpose, stressed that his proposal should be framed in a State pact between PP and PSOE, and denied internal problems in his party over how to deal with the situation in Catalonia.
In this context, Rodríguez has asked Feijóo to “stop looking at the PSOE to dress his nakedness”, since if he is alone it is “because he wanted it that way” by linking “his political future to Vox”. “Her loneliness from him has only one reason and that is that he joined those positions of denying gender violence, of attacking diversity, of not understanding climate change, of censoring culture,” Rodríguez reiterated.
For this reason, he has reproached him again for wasting Spain’s time knowing that he will not be able to gather more support for his investiture than the 172 supported by PP, Vox, the Navarro People’s Union and the Canarian Coalition.
“What he had, has and will have are 172 votes and, therefore, his investiture is not possible,” emphasized Rodríguez, who has made it clear that when it is the turn of Pedro Sánchez’s investiture, his party will be able to speak with ” all political forces” because it understands that from the “diversity” and “plurality” expressed at the polls, a “path of progress”, “understanding” and “coexistence” can emerge.
