Israeli Army spokesman Daniel Hagari has indicated that Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinuar, and “all senior Hamas officials” are “trying to create an image of destruction in Gaza and dead Gazans because of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)”.

For his part, the head of Israel’s Military Intelligence services, Aharon Haliva, has stated that the country does not face an “existential” threat and has pointed out that “it is a war for a lifestyle,” according to what he has gathered. the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’.

“The existence of the State of Israel is not at risk,” Haliva said during a graduation ceremony for Intelligence officers. “However, it is a war on our lifestyle, on the roads and fields that are part of our daily lives, on daycares and schools and on our children and grandchildren,” he said.

In this sense, he emphasized that the conflict with Hamas affects the possibility of “living in this country with security, peace and choice for future generations”, before highlighting that Israel “also faces enemies in the north and to the east”, referring to Lebanon and Syria and Iran, respectively.

The attacks carried out on October 7 by Hamas left nearly 1,400 dead and more than 230 kidnapped, while the authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamist group, have reported the death of more than 8,500 people in bombings.
