MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, warned the Lebanese Prime Minister, Nayib Mikati, this Saturday that entering the war would have “consequences” for the Lebanese people.
The head of US diplomacy has highlighted “the importance of respecting the interests of the Lebanese people, who would suffer the consequences if Lebanon is dragged into the conflict caused by the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.”
The State Department has reported this telephone conversation in which Blinken has conveyed his “condolences” to the families of the Lebanese civilians “who have tragically lost their lives as a result of the conflict.”
Blinken has reiterated the “continued support of the United States to the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, the only legitimate guarantor of the stability and territorial integrity of Lebanon.”
