Likewise, it has indicated that it has been taken into account as a mitigating factor that they have shown remorse for their actions, have admitted their guilt and have collaborated with the investigations into these attacks, which took place on February 24, the day on which the attack began. the Russian offensive against Ukraine.

The ruling has come a day after a Ukrainian court filed for the first time a complaint against a Russian soldier for alleged rape in the framework of the invasion unleashed by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A Ukrainian court last week sentenced a Russian soldier identified as Vadim Shishimarin to life in prison for the murder of a civilian as part of the invasion, in the first trial in the country on these charges since the start of the war. Shishimarin’s was the first of more than 9,000 trials that Ukrainian authorities have opened for war crimes since the beginning of the invasion.
