MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Vox, Sántiago Abascal, has affirmed this Monday that there will be more changes in the party after the departure of Javier Ortega Smith from the General Secretariat of the formation.

“Surely yes,” he answered emphatically in an interview on Telecinco, which Europa Press has picked up, when asked about whether the formation will undertake more changes.

Abascal has taken the opportunity to praise the work of the now Vox candidate for mayor of Madrid. “A replacement was needed,” said the leader of Vox, at the same time that he highlighted that “it is one of the most difficult positions.”

On October 6, the Vox National Executive Committee (CEN) confirmed Javier Ortega Smith as a candidate for Mayor of Madrid in the May elections and has appointed him as the new vice president of the party; at the same time that he has been relieved in the General Secretariat by the deputy in the Parliament of Catalonia Ignacio Garriga.
