It is open to alliances with other forces but respecting its identity because it seeks to have its “own voice” in Congress
MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Adelante Andalucía has advanced that it will present itself to the next general elections and as an Andalusian autonomous force it does not contemplate joining Sumar, the new platform promoted by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz. Of course, the formation is open to establishing alliances that preserve its own identity.
This has been indicated to the media by the spokeswoman for Adelante, Teresa Rodríguez, and the leader of the formation and former senator Pilar González, after presenting in Madrid a series of amendments that Compromís, BNG and the CUP will defend to raise the investment in the General Budgets for Andalusia.
The two have explained that this proposal is the “prelude” for Andalusia to present itself to the next elections, have a presence in the General Courts and, if possible, become the “key” for a future progressive central government.
Asked if they are in talks with Sumar to form a joint candidacy, Teresa Rodríguez clarified that they are an “autonomous” force of “Andalusian obedience” that aspires to give Andalusia “its own voice”.
“Nobody questions that ERC, the CUP or BNG present themselves together with Sumar”, the regional deputy has sentenced to specify that, as a progressive formation, she looks with “interest” and “respect” at the initiative promoted by Díaz.
Therefore, Rodríguez explained that Adelante Andalucía, despite being different forces, is open to collaboration with other parties but maintaining its differentiated and autonomous position. In this way, he has reported that they have supported United We Can initiatives despite sometimes having “a little conflictive” relations with the purple formation.
Thus, it has emphasized that it is a priority for Adelante Andalucía to have its own voice in Congress and has spelled out that the General Budgets are negotiated from the correlation of forces and that the 61 Andalusian deputies in the Lower House will vote on the Budgets based on what their parties “based in Madrid”.
Finally, Pilar González has ruled that Adelante Andalucía will stand in the general elections and that, for now, they are presenting these amendments thanks to the solidarity shown by BNG, Compromís and the CUP.
