Remember that Pedro Sánchez arrived to end the corruption “endemic to the PP”, when asked about a possible case in the PSPV
MADRID, 30 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría, has today avoided talking about a possible government crisis after the Andalusian elections on June 19 and has shown her conviction that Andalusian citizens will support a progressive government more than one “led by by the extreme right”. She has also said that she is unaware of the information that points to a possible case of corruption in the PSPV, but she has recalled that Pedro Sánchez arrived to end the endemic corruption of the PP.
Alegría has intervened in the Informative Breakfasts of Europa Press where he has avoided answering the question of whether changes in the Executive or a certain “reset of the Legislature” would be possible if the PSOE does not manage to win and form a Government as the polls indicate.
Faced with this question, the minister has responded that despite the “somewhat complicated” Legislature of the difficulties and “turbulence” due to the pandemic, the war in the heart of Europe and “crises of all kinds”, the Government is clear that its objective will be to continue applying policies that improve people’s lives.
And he has insisted that the Andalusians first have to speak but has stressed that “regardless of what happens”, the objective of the Executive is that, it is the “road map of the people”.
In addition, she has been convinced that despite the difficult times that are being experienced, the Government feels “supported and supported” because citizens know that it has put measures on the table to save lives and jobs throughout this period of Legislature.
That said, she has been “confident” that Andalusian citizens are going to vote for a progressive government instead of one “led by the far right.”
Therefore, he has not wanted to put himself in the scenario that the polls draw. “Andalusian citizens are going to support a progressive government more than one led by the extreme right”, he exclaimed while making it clear that the options are, according to his point of view, a government that works to expand rights or one with Vox as in Castilla y León, whose policies, he has said, are already being seen. And in this context, he has recalled the way in which the vice president of this autonomy spoke last week to a PSOE attorney with a disability.
Pilar Alegría has said that she understands that citizens look at the polls but believes that people should be allowed to speak on June 19. She has recalled, in this sense, that many times the polls have pointed to results that later have had nothing to do with the final results. Thus, he has given the example of Castilla y León, where the polls in the last regional elections pointed to an absolute majority of the PP and yet, this was not the case and “for the first time” a far-right party was allowed to enter the Regional government.
And in the case of Andalusia, he believes that the united Andalusian PSOE is an “unstoppable machine.” Thus, he considers that if on June 19 “citizens go out to vote and do not stay at home” the polls “perhaps have a lot to rectify.”
The Minister of Education has also said that she was unaware of information published today by the newspaper El Mundo, which points to a possible case of corruption in the Socialist Party of the Valencian Community, according to which dozens of invoices would point to bribes from PSOE officials and a possible illegal financing of the party in the region.
“I do not know this information, I have not had the opportunity to read what the newspaper El Mundo says,” Pilar Alegría replied. But he wanted to emphasize that the arrival to the Government of Pedro Sánchez was raised with two objectives, one of them was to provide real solutions to the problems of the people and the other “to end the endemic corruption that dragged the PP”.
He has stated that precisely these two approaches were the “service sheet” that enabled the PSOE to have the majority support of the citizenry in electoral contests.
