MADRID, 30 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, has shown his support for the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, and has highlighted his “great work beyond the storms” in the General Assembly of the RFEF.
“I could see the respect and admiration of UEFA for this federation and for Rubiales, who is doing a great job beyond the storms that may pass. I express my support and respect for you and your entire team,” Blanco said in his speech at the Assembly, which is held in the Ciudad del FĂștbol de Las Rozas (Madrid).
For Blanco, the Assembly is a “song to the past” “But it is always a commitment to tomorrow, to the future. It is a federation with a past, with history, but the most important thing is what remains to be achieved. You will always have my respect, admiration and darling,” she assured Rubiales.
“Now I can see my six-year-old grandson play, the world has evolved a lot, but the first boy’s and girl’s club still exists, the fact that football has been lived with passion since childhood has not changed. There is the work of regional federations and provincial,” he stressed.
On the other hand, he wanted to congratulate Real Madrid for winning the Champions League last Saturday against Liverpool at the Stade de France in Paris. “I heartily congratulate Real Madrid, I’m delighted, it’s impressive to see Real Madrid win the 14th ‘Champions’,” he said.
