At least 16 people have died and around thirty are missing as a result of flash floods in the city of Xining, in central China.
Some 36 people remain missing after heavy rains that fell on Wednesday night in the mountainous district of Datong, near this city of Xining, located in Qinghai province, whose authorities have decreed the second highest level of alert of your emergency system.
Heavy downpours have caused landslides that have blocked communication routes and diverted rivers, affecting more than 6,000 people in two municipalities and six villages, according to CCTV.
The authorities have mobilized some 2,000 people, including rescuers, including police, paramilitary units, emergency services and government officials, for recovery work.
