With a top speed of about 230 km/hour, this Roadster look as muscular as the coupe, “butterfly”, has attracted a clientele more keen on grand touring than sports performance. “Because of its driving characteristics, its driving pleasure, and style of rare elegance, insensitive to the passage of time, the 300 SL Roadster sees its rating will strengthen constantly,” stresses Matthieu Lamoure, managing director of Artcurial Motorcars. On a total production of 1858 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadsters delivered between 1957 and 1964, this copy, released in 1963, is the ultimate version, the most accomplished, with its disc brakes and its engine block in aluminum.
