**Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 May Have Bad News for PlayStation Gamers**

It looks as though Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be a part of the controversial Call of Duty HQ app, which means it may not have its own Platinum trophy to unlock on PlayStation. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the next installment in the long-running Call of Duty franchise, and while the series has been heavily criticized in recent years, there is a decent amount of hype for the new Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has reportedly enjoyed the longest development time of any Call of Duty game to date, with it being Treyarch’s first leading effort since 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. Even though no gameplay footage of Black Ops 6 has been shown yet, many fans are eagerly anticipating the game’s big reveal on June 9.

Some Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 details are available ahead of the game’s June 9 presentation. As spotted by Charlie Intel, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is listed as DLC for the Call of Duty HQ app. As some may recall, this is the same thing that happened with the 2023 Modern Warfare 3 game. While not necessarily a huge deal on paper, it does mean that Black Ops 6 will potentially launch without a Platinum trophy to unlock, which could annoy PlayStation gamers.

Call of Duty HQ is meant to be a launcher for all console and PC Call of Duty games moving forward. It brings the main series entries all under one umbrella, along with the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale. This approach has proven to be controversial, with fans criticizing Call of Duty HQ’s UI and how the games are treated as “DLC” even though they are meant to be standalone, full-fledged experiences.

With Modern Warfare 3, it made a little more sense for it to be part of Call of Duty HQ because it shared so much content with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. As Call of Duty fans will recall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 guns and cosmetics carried over to Modern Warfare 3. While it’s possible the same will be true for Black Ops 6, it seems unlikely. Ultimately, fans will have to wait for more clarification on that front.

Luckily, more concrete details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be coming sooner rather than later. Black Ops 6 will be featured at the Xbox Games Showcase, and will then have a full-fledged presentation immediately after, which will give fans a deep dive into what the new game is bringing to the table when it launches later this year.
