MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Ciudadanos will hold the extraordinary general assembly on January 13, 14 and 15, 2023 in which, among other aspects, it will define the leadership of the party, within the framework of its refoundation process opened after the succession of poor results in regional elections. The unknown is if the current leader Inés Arrimadas tries to reissue her position.

This was announced at a press conference by the spokesman for the refoundation and deputy in Congress for Malaga, Guillermo Díaz, who clarified that the relevant bodies still have to approve the date. However, the Executive Committee and the renewal team agree that it is “suitable”.

“We think that with this date we have fulfilled exactly what we said, the end of December or the beginning of January,” he added, noting that the date allows the team to present the work carried out and the milestones achieved “in an absolute and satisfactory manner.”

The president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, already announced at the beginning of September that the extraordinary assembly will “restart” the party and define its program, its image, its teams and its leadership, although for the moment it has not reported whether it plans to opt for re-election as head of the ‘orange’ formation.
