The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, assured this Tuesday that the PP is following the news about the possible arrest of the Iranian climber Elnaz Rekabi with “concern” and has expressed his support for the women who fight “so bravely” for their Rights.
The Iranian climber would have been arrested by the Tehran authorities present at the Embassy in Seoul, after on Sunday she participated without a hijab in the Asian Championship of her discipline in South Korea, as a show of support for the protests that are shaking the country for the death of young Mahsa Amini.
“We are following with concern the news that we know about the possible arrest of the Iranian climber Elnaz Rekabi. The women who fight so bravely for their rights deserve unequivocal and forceful support from all democrats without exception,” he said in a message on his official Twitter account, collected by Europa Press.
