Aleph Zero has made a groundbreaking announcement, introducing the first EVM-compatible ZK-Privacy Layer with subsecond proving times. This new development allows for zero-knowledge proofs to be generated in under one second on consumer-grade devices, revolutionizing on-chain privacy.

The Aleph Zero Foundation is thrilled to unveil the testnet release of its ZK-privacy EVM Layer 2 solution, powered by Arbitrum Orbit on Gelato RaaS. This marks a significant milestone in the world of privacy solutions, as it is the first EVM-compatible privacy solution capable of subsecond ZK proving times. This advancement greatly enhances the user experience by providing virtually instantaneous on-chain privacy.

In addition to this exciting development, Aleph Zero has also introduced zkOS, a product suite designed for the seamless integration of on-chain privacy into various Web3 applications. This client-side, chain-agnostic zero-knowledge privacy system aims to offer Privacy-as-a-Service (PaaS) through app integrations on WASM and EVM-compatible networks. These initiatives open up Aleph Zero’s ecosystem to a wider range of EVM users and mark the first step towards potential multichain growth.

One of the key features of zkOS is its ability to allow users to conduct private transactions and interact with decentralized applications without compromising their data. This system enables high-throughput applications, including privacy-preserving DeFi apps, RWAs, AI, and enterprise solutions, expanding the accessibility of privacy technologies to a broader audience.

Antoni Zolciak, Co-founder of Aleph Zero, highlighted the significance of these developments, stating, “Privacy is still mostly unsolved; it’s costly, complex to use and build, and its use cases lack economic incentives. With zkOS by Aleph Zero and the zk-privacy EVM layer 2, we aim to change that not only in the Aleph Zero ecosystem but also in the broader Ethereum ecosystem.”

The new ZK-privacy EVM Layer 2 Developer Testnet is now live, inviting builders and early adopters to explore the possibilities of integrating this innovative technology into their projects. Integration examples include collaborations with Rarible, the NFT company, and a team working on novel prediction markets. The Developer Mainnet release is scheduled for Q3 2024.

Aleph Zero EVM, a ZK-privacy Layer 2 rollup on Ethereum, has been developed in partnership with Gelato, leveraging Arbitrum Anytrust DAC technology to create a fast, secure, and scalable execution environment. With block times as fast as 250ms and near-instant transaction finality, Aleph Zero EVM processes thousands of transactions per second, making it one of the fastest EVM chains available.

Overall, Aleph Zero’s advancements in privacy technology and the introduction of zkOS represent a significant step forward in the world of blockchain development. By prioritizing data confidentiality, speed, and ease of development, Aleph Zero is paving the way for a more secure and accessible blockchain ecosystem.
