MADRID, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga and the professional clubs of LaLiga Santander and SmartBank contributed 43.3 percent of the income of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in 2021, while that percentage has increased to over 48 percent in the last three years, according to an internal employer report.

According to LaLiga data, to which Europa Press has had access, of the 368.5 million euros that the RFEF entered in 2021, almost 160 million (43.3 percent) come from professional football, LaLiga and its clubs. In the last three years, LaLiga and its clubs contributed 402 million to the accounts of the body chaired by Luis Rubiales, approximately half of the 834 that were generated in that period (48.2 percent).

LaLiga’s internal report on the RFEF’s accounts, which will be presented this Monday at the body’s Assembly, also shows that the 40 million that it entered for the television rights of the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup come from the LaLiga clubs .

In addition, they indicate that the body chaired by Rubiales incorrectly attributes itself, according to LaLiga, as income of 33 million from arbitration, VAR, Social Security and travel of the referees, when they affirm that these amounts are paid directly by professional football and go directly to refereeing salaries, the VAR provider and travel.

The report indicates that the RFEF also erroneously attributes 8.5 million euros as income that LaLiga pays to the Higher Sports Council (CSD) by Royal Decree of May 2015 for the centralized sale of television rights, which the Council itself CSD transfers to the RFEF to act as an intermediary in the payment to the Second B and Women’s Soccer clubs. As well as the 12.5 million from the UEFA Solidarity project, from the clubs that participate in European competitions.
