MADRID, 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The former Vice President of the Government and former Minister of Defense, Narcís Serra, has stated that he authorized the devices of the Higher Defense Information Center (CESID) “to hide the dalliances” of Juan Carlos I when he was King.
“I do not regret it,” he assured in an interview published this Sunday by the newspaper El Español in which he was asked if the CESID rented chalets to the monarch so that he could go with “lovers.”
Serra, who was head of Defense between 1982 and 1991 and vice president between 1991 and 1995, has admitted that this was carried out so that Juan Carlos I could hold these meetings “within a control”, and has denied that the intelligence agency will help to the monarch “in matters of business”.
“When you have high responsibilities, there are many difficult decisions and at that time, especially after 23F, I believed that we had to help fully support the figure of the King,” he explained in this regard.
