Centers Astou Ndour and Nerea Hermosa have been dropped from the squad list offered by the Spanish women’s basketball coach, Miguel Méndez, for the second part of the ‘Camino al Futuro’ tour, which will take place in Guadalajara from Sunday.
In total, the coach of the Spanish team has called 14 players: Silvia Domínguez, Maite Cazorla, Laura Peña, Leticia Romero, Ángela Salvadores, Leo Rodríguez, Queralt Casas, Alba Torrens, María Conde, Paula Ginzo, María Araujo, Irati Etxarri, Raquel Carrera and Lola Pendande.
Regarding the call offered on May 17, Ndour and Hermosa fell, and players such as point guard Laura Peña, shooting guard Ángela Salvadores and center Lola Pendande remained.
Those summoned will concentrate from this Sunday in Guadalajara. There, the team will carry out several work sessions with the aim of continuing to train and consolidate the team ahead of the November ‘window’, of qualifying for the 2023 Eurobasket.
In addition, the group will travel to play the Italian Tournament that will be played in Cividale del Friuli and in which they will face Slovenia, on June 18 (7:00 p.m.); and the host Italy, on June 19 (7:00 p.m.).
In the first part of the tour, the team completed ten days of work in Melilla that culminated in two victories against Italy (60-49) and Belgium (79-79).
