It also calls for Escudero’s resignation in the face of the “chaos” of health in Madrid

MADRID, 7 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Podemos has demanded this Monday that the PSOE reconsider and withdraw its amendments to the Trans Law, in addition to criticizing its “alliance” with the PP to try to knock down its housing proposal in the General State Budgets (PGE)

At a press conference, the state co-spokesperson Javier Sánchez Serna stressed that the trans regulations promoted by the Ministry of Equality must follow their “normal course” because it raises the consensus of the group in accordance with their historical claims and be “approved at the end of the year” , because it was also agreed within the Executive.

In this regard, he has admitted that any norm is “susceptible” to be improved in the parliamentary process but in the “direction” of advancing and recognizing rights. Therefore, they have sued the PSOE, with whom it maintains constant communication, to desist from the modifications proposed in the text and that its formation “is not going to let go” of the group and “much less” of trans minors.

And it is that the Socialist Parliamentary Group registered a package of amendments in which it intends that minors between 12 and 16 years of age need judicial approval to be able to change their name and sex in the Civil Registry, a requirement that the current text contemplates only for minors between 12 and 14 years old. In this way, it seeks to limit the self-determination of gender in those under 16 years of age with the aim of “reinforcing the guarantees” for that age group in accordance, as they explained, with the “superior interest of the minor”.

For her part, the also co-spokesperson and candidate of Podemos for the Community of Madrid, Alejandra Jacinto, has reproached the PSOE for allying itself with the popular ones, whom she has defined as the “Spanish real estate party”, against their amendments to the public accounts to address “urgent” issues, such as regulating rents and prohibiting evictions without adequate housing alternatives.

The leader of the purple formation has explained that these advances to guarantee the fundamental right of access to housing “cannot wait any longer” and, with the housing law paralyzed, has defended these amendments to the PGE in the face of the rise experienced by mortgages and high rental prices.

Therefore, the reason alluded to by the Socialists, who rely on the report of the chamber’s lawyers that these proposals exceed the scope of the Budget project, is a “bureaucratic excuse” for Congress not to rule on the amendments and knock them down “with their backs to the citizenry” for administrative reasons. “The PSOE does not understand what is at stake,” he has launched.

He also wanted to call to support the massive mobilization on Sunday in Madrid in defense of public health in the face of the “chaos” of the reopening of the Primary Care Emergencies, which in his opinion evidences the attempt of the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to “charge” this public service.

In this sense, he has said that the succession of resignations in the regional administration reveals that “not even his people can stand it” and that the solution is to hire more doctors and assume political responsibilities, which must go through the resignation of the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero.

Jacinto has also denounced that this “destruction” of health also comes from the law that allows health outsourcing promoted by the popular government of José María Aznar, criticizing that the bill for the Health Equity Law, known as the ‘Darias’ Law, leaves “intact”. Therefore, he has promised that Podemos will fight “hard” to amend this regulation to further restrict indirect management in health.
