Or giant, or tiny, rather experienced, and largely oriented towards Europe : this is what it looks like the French company which is traded abroad.

She has over 10 years of existence

On 116 700 exporting companies studied in the Observatory of companies Ellisphere, barely more than a third (36.5 per cent) have less than ten years seniority. The export is a case of companies that have bottle: in France, companies with more than twenty years accounted for 21.6% of the total number of enterprises, but 35.3 per cent of those who export. And they weigh in at 63% of the total turnover of our companies to export.

This is an ETI, or a large SME

Who are the companies that are more oriented towards the international ? Always according to the Observatory cited above, those that employ between 250 and 5000 people. Those called now (ETI size companies intermediaries) do not count for anything in the national economy, as they realize 29.7% of sales of French companies. But this is nothing next to their weight in the French exports : 41.2 percent. The category just below (50 to 249 employees), also weighs heavier on the international (22,8%) than on the domestic market (19.8 per cent).

The area that is most to our balance of trade ? Far ahead of the perfumes (10.7 billion euros) or wine ($7.8 billion), it is the aviation, with 50.7 billion of exports in 2013, which is 11.9% of the total. The pharmacy (6.3%) were follows of course in the standings, but it has been overtaken by the motor vehicles (5.3%), and the accessories… for motor vehicles (3%). This that steals, that rolls, and what vogue also : France is n°5 on the global market of pleasure boats, and even n°1 on the boats.

Where to sell our exporting companies ? Not all that far away… In 2013, the Europe picks up two-thirds of our exports, Asia 13%, America 10%, Africa 6%, the Near and Middle East 3%. The effect of the european customs union ? Without doubt, as the European Union is the destination of 60% of our exports, and its historical core (the EU 15) 55%. Germany remains by far our primary market : the French export three times more to the USA, and four times more than to China.
