RPG Maker WITH Software’s Trailer Reveals October 11 Launch for Switch

NIS America has announced the release of RPG Maker WITH, the latest software in the RPG Maker series developed by Gotcha Gotcha Games. The Western release for Nintendo Switch is set for October 11, with plans for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions in 2025. A trailer showcasing the ability to create games with friends was streamed by the company.

The software, which launched in Japan on April 11, offers the innovative feature of “asset sharing,” allowing creators to collaborate on game development. Prior to this release, Gotcha Gotcha Games introduced RPG Maker Unite on the Unity Asset Store in April 2023.

Originally scheduled for a April 6 debut, the software was delayed to ensure quality and stability. The initial release date was pushed back from 2022 to spring 2023 to optimize the software for seamless integration with the Unity Editor. While the Switch launch is imminent, a Steam version is expected later this year with an improved installation process.

Kadokawa, the publisher behind the previous RPG Maker MZ release on Steam in 2020, has been at the forefront of empowering game creators. With RPG Maker WITH’s upcoming release, the gaming community can anticipate a new era of collaborative game development.

As of November 1, 2022, Kadokawa World Entertainment (KWE) has entered into an agreement to acquire majority control of Anime News Network. This partnership underscores Kadokawa’s commitment to supporting and promoting the anime and gaming industry.
