The government wants to trim the payroll tax cuts that benefit micro-entrepreneurs in the beginning of the activity, but waives the right to do so as of the 1st October.

Prepared in a hurry, without consultation, a decree was originally scheduled to enter force on Tuesday 1 October. The text provided for the granting of exemptions from charges to new autoentrepreneurs for a year, and up to 50% only. As for those already who have already established their business, they had to see their exemptions reduced (75% in the first year, 25% the second and 10% the third).

The project has triggered a storm of protest. In a few days, more than 20,000 people have signed the petition launched on the Internet by the national Federation of autoentrepreneurs and its president, Gregory Leclercq, has made feet and hands to encourage the executive to backtrack.
