MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Next November, a total of 400 Ukrainian soldiers will arrive in Spain to receive training in different disciplines of war, in response to the new mission of the European Union created for the training and education of Ukrainian personnel.
The Ukrainian troops are scheduled to arrive in Spain on November 1 and will receive training at the Toledo Infantry Academy, Defense Minister Margarita Robles revealed this Friday after participating in a forum on the defense industry organized by El Economista .
This is the offer of the Spanish Government to the military training mission to the Ukrainian Army with which European forces will train some 15,000 soldiers in community territory to combat the Russian invasion.
These troops will remain in Spain “as long as necessary”, according to Robles, since not all of them will need the same period of training in each of the areas. “Spain’s offer is total and absolute for the Ukrainian military that we can absorb and for as long as it takes,” he assured.
In addition, another twenty Ukrainian soldiers have been in Zaragoza for three weeks and are being instructed in the handling of the Aspide anti-missile battery, which Spain will donate to Ukraine for its air defense.
Although this first training was scheduled for two weeks, finally his stay at the Zaragoza air base has been extended another fifteen days and is now nearing completion. The Ukrainian military themselves will return to their country together with the Aspide battery to put it into operation, Robles has revealed.
This shipment is added to those that Spain has been carrying out for weeks of military, humanitarian and logistical material. This same Thursday it announced the shipment of five generators to alleviate possible electrical deficiencies that may be generated by Russian attacks, especially in hospitals or other basic infrastructure.
