Starship Troopers: Extermination Set to Launch in October with Singleplayer Campaign Featuring Casper Van Dien
“Join up now and do your part.” First announced in 2022, Starship Troopers: Extermination, the highly anticipated FPS game based on the iconic Starship Troopers movies, has been in early access for over a year. Exciting news for fans as it now has an official release date and will also be available on consoles with a new gameplay mode.
During IGN Live, the development team Offworld, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, revealed that Starship Troopers: Extermination will be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 11. The game will feature a singleplayer campaign led by actor Casper Van Dien, known for his role as Johnny Rico in the original films.
Players will take on the role of General John “Johnny Rico” alongside three NPC allies unique to the game in a campaign consisting of 25 missions, with more content planned for the future. Offworld also announced that crossplay will be available upon launch and teased an upcoming update scheduled for the end of June.
Starship Troopers: Extermination is a cooperative PvE FPS game that allows up to 16 players to battle against hordes of alien bugs in various game modes. Early reviews have praised the game’s potential, stating that with further development, it could become a top choice for team-based bug extermination, capturing the fast-paced action of the films.
In addition to the game’s release, Knights Peak, a new European division of MY.GAMES, will be publishing Starship Troopers: Extermination along with several other titles. Keep an eye out for more updates and information as the game’s launch date approaches.
