The average pension has slightly increased year on year. Just as the age at which seniors are retired.
How much retirees receive on average ? At what age do they leave ? How many years you spend in retirement ? What about the retired ? The Drees, Direction of research, studies, evaluation and statistics, makes the point in his annual report that “Pensioners and pensions” , published on 6 June. With 2019, as a bonus, a specific light on the mechanisms of solidarity of our pension system.
• 17 million pensioners
To December 31, 2017, the French schemes were 17.2 million retirees, all plans combined, and beneficiaries of survivors ‘ pensions included. It is 108,000 more than in 2016. They are 1.62 million to reside abroad.

In twenty departments, the pensioners represent at least one third of the more than 14 years. This is the case in the Gers, Aveyron, la Vendee, the Creuse, the Cher, the Orne river. The report states that 6.6% of pensioners are poor, compared with 14 % of the entire population.

• A pension of 1400 euros net on average
The monthly pension average by the end of 2017 to 1496 € gross for pensioners resident in France, 1399 € net, taking into account the social contributions.
including those who live outside our borders, whose pensions are generally far less high, this average drops to 1422 € gross and 1331 € net. Increase in the gross amount on a year : 2.1 per cent. Adjusted for inflation, the increase is 0.9 %. It is explained first by the the”noria” – the fact that the new pensioners have had careers that are more favourable than the former and therefore have better pensions.

• 40 % fewer for women
women residing in France affecting 1123 € pension gross average. It is 41.9 per cent less than men who perceive 1933 €. This gap has virtually not evolved in a year; it was 42.3 % in 2016. It falls, in contrast to 29 % (29.2% in 2016) if one includes reversions, with women being paid then average of 1388 € gross and men 1955 €.

• starting at 62 years and one month
The retirees living in France are retired in 2017 on average, up to 62 years and 1 month, compared to 61 years and 10 months in 2016. It is 62 years and 4 months for women age 61 and 9 months for men. These figures refer specifically to the age of “economic” retirement, the average age-adjusted effects of generations. It has increased by 1 year and 7 months since 2010.

Among those who have retired in 2017, 7 % were aged less than 60 years old, 19 % were 60 years, 57 % between 61 and 64 years, 17 % at least 65 years of age.
• 88% of the reversions are female
women are 3.9 million to reach at least a reversion, and represent 88 % of the nearly 4.4 million recipients of this scheme by the end of 2017. Explanations : their longevity is superior to that of men, they are often of a younger age than their husbands, and men are more likely to be deprived of reversion in the plans imposing a condition of the resource due to their higher pensions.
• 26 and a half years in retirement
The duration of retirement for those born in 1951, is on average 26 years and 6 months, satisfies the Drees. In detail, 24 years and 7 months for men and 28 years and 5 months for women. This time estimated average has climbed from 1 year and a half, compared to the generation of 1940.
• A retiree touches, on average, 2.5 pensions
summing up the basic plans and the supplemental plans, retirees have received an average of 2.5 pensions, excluding reversions in 2017. A number that increases slowly over the years: it was 2.33 in 2004.

in The end, the French schemes are one-third (33.1 percent) of the “polypensionnés”, elderlies, affecting at least two pensions (e.g. a pension under the general scheme, and a pension of a regime of liberal). Men are more often affected, to 38.3 %.
• 314 billion euros in pension total
pension plans the French have paid 313,9 billion euros of pensions “old-age survival,” in 2017, which is 6 billion more than in 2016. The equivalent of 13.7% of GDP. This amount includes :
• 277,4 billion euros of pension the so-called “direct right”, essentially pensions, personal paid by the schemes of basic and supplementary ;
• 36.5 billion of pensions of the “derivative right”, especially reversions, paid to widowers and widows ;
• $ 3.2 billion of allocations of minimum old-age pension.

• 9 retirees out of 10 have a mechanism of solidarity
On the pensions paid in 2016, 43.8 billion euros have been schemes of solidarity “in the strict sense”. The main “instruments” recorded here by the Drees are the increase of pension of the parents of three children and more ($8 billion), the departures of the special schemes and employees assets ($8.2 billion), those of persons with disabilities (0.8 billion), the minimum pension ($8.5 billion), the quarters for children ($4.6 billion), the quarters assimilated to unemployment, illness or other reasons ($6.1 billion).
These almost 44 billion representing 16.3% of the aggregate amounts received by retired members, excluding survivors. Not less than 93 % of these have thus benefited from at least one of these devices.
For the 25 % of seniors earning less than 680 € pension, these devices of solidarity constitute half (49,3 %) of the amount of pensions. Figures that the writers of the reform in preparation to observe probably the most attention, the transposition of these devices in the new points system constituting one of the greatest challenges of this big bang…
• Almost 500 000 of cumulants
The device of accumulated employment pension was 473 200 seniors by the end of 2017, 16 500 more than the previous year. This is 3.3 % of the retired. “The jobs undertaken in the framework of a combination are in a very large majority of part-time jobs,” says the study.
