GRANADA, 23 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Provincial Electoral Board of Granada has not found “any legal obstacle” for the proclamation of Macarena Olona’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Andalusian Government by Vox in the upcoming Andalusian elections on June 19 and has rejected the request for its annulment carried out by the coalition Andaluces Levantaos.
In its agreement, to which Europa Press has had access, the Provincial Electoral Board states that resolving this matter in another way “would compromise constitutional guarantees” such as the principle of legality and legal certainty, as well as suppose a “break” of the aforementioned right equal access to public functions and positions.
The decision of the Provincial Electoral Board of Granada, which met this Monday to address the matter, comes in response to the request of Andaluces Levantados that Olona’s candidacy be annulled for “not meeting the neighborhood requirement” in Andalusia and for his alleged “fictitious registration” in the Granada municipality of SalobreƱa.
