SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, Oct. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Galician Parliament has agreed to keep the salary of the autonomous deputies frozen in the budgets for 2023, some accounts that do contemplate a 4 percent increase for the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, and the members of his executive.
Parliamentary sources have confirmed to Europa Press that the Chamber Table, chaired by Miguel Santalices (PP) and in which the three political forces of the parliamentary arch (also BNG and PSdeG) are represented, agreed to maintain the current remuneration for the 72 representatives with which the hemicycle counts.
The Autonomous Chamber has 75 seats, but three –President Rueda and his first and second vice presidents, Francisco Conde and Diego Calvo– are members of the Executive and their salary is paid by the Xunta.
Thus, the item for senior officials and delegates for 2023 included in the regional budget for 2023 (which now has to be processed) includes 2,236,600 to pay senior officials and delegates, an item that barely rises 2,000 euros compared to 2022 and that it is due to the fact that this global includes personnel with consideration of high position but salary application of public employee.
In the case of the amount reserved for cabinet personnel, the Galician Chamber has budgeted 590,050 euros, compared to the 567,140 euros of the current budgets, an increase that corresponds to 4 percent.
The budget of the Parliament of Galicia amounts, for next year, to 19,409,000 euros (compared to 18,765,000 in 2022), while that of the Valedor do Pobo – commissioned institution of the Chamber – is 2,067,000 euros (compared to 1,988,000 in 2022). In total, they add up to 21,476,000, compared to 20,753,000, 3.48 percent more (below 4%).
However, the budget project includes a 4 percent increase for the president and the councillors, so that it goes from the 79,651 that appeared in 2022 for his predecessor in office, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to the 82,843 that he will receive the year Alfonso Rueda is coming.
Meanwhile, the salaries of the two vice presidents and those of the councilors go from 69,517 euros to 72,303, which also represents an increase of 4%.
As for temporary cabinet personnel, spending is slightly reduced, going from 6.37 million euros this year to the 6.2 million contemplated for the coming year.
