MADRID, 23 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, has refused this Monday to comment on the Juan Carlos I should or should not give explanations about his actions in the past and has limited himself to pointing out that this is something that the king emeritus himself must decide.
This was stated by Rueda upon his arrival at the meeting of the National Executive Committee of the PP, the first he attended as Galician president after succeeding the new leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
Rueda has insisted that the presence of Juan Carlos de Borbón in Galicia has been “good news” from the promotional point of view of the community but, when asked if he should give “explanations”, he has indicated that “it does not correspond to the PP say so”.
“I am not going to assess it if he has to give them, I don’t know, that is something that he will have to decide,” he commented, yes, in the next line he stressed that “he has no pending legal cases” that prevent him from returning to Spain and move freely around the country.
Other popular leaders have shared the same idea upon their arrival in ‘Genoa’, such as the Murcian president, Fernando López Miras, or the president of the party in Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez.
In addition, Núñez has accused the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, of “preferring to throw himself into the arms of Podemos” and “his partners” instead of “defending the Monarchy.” From his point of view, Sánchez has come to “confront the Royal House with society” to satisfy his allies.
“Someone who has contributed so much to this country deserves the respect of the Government,” he added, criticizing Sánchez for “muddying the playing field” because “he does not want to talk about other issues.”
“I am always with the monarchical institution”, pointed out, for his part, the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.
